应地球科学学院王伟教授邀请, 巴西Pernambuco州立大学Lauro Montefalco博士来我校访问,并作学术报告。
简介
汇报人:Dr. Lauro Montefalco
汇报人简介:Dr. Lauro Montefalco obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Brasília, Brazil, in 2017. He conducts research on Tectonics, Igneous Petrology, and Geochronology, advising undergraduate, master's, and Ph.D. students at the Federal University of Pernambuco, Brazil, in different portions of the Borborema Province, aiming to investigate the nature and evolution of accretionary orogenesis throughout the central portion of western Gondwana. He has published papers in Gondwana Research, Precambrian Research, Journal of Structural Geology, and other well-known reference journals, also acting as a reviewer for a number of manuscripts published in Geology, Tectonics, Solid Earth, Tectonophysics, among others.
汇报内容:A Brief Outline of the Precambrian Rocks of South America
汇报内容简介:The South American continental crust was mostly consolidated during the assembly of the western portion of Gondwana. Prior to the opening of the South Atlantic, major Archean–Paleoproterozoic paleocontinents shared lithospheric bridges, which today are known as the São Francisco–Congo and Amazonia–West Africa Cratons. During the convergence of these blocks, orogenic belts were built up, resulting in Ediacaran to Cambrian orogenic systems as part of the huge Brasiliano–Pan African orogeny. Most Precambrian rocks of South America occupy the Brazilian territory, which has a complex and fascinating evolution that comprises approximately 3.0 Ga of continental growth and lithospheric reworking. In this topic, we will have a brief look at this history, which, despite major peculiarities, shares many markers with a number of Precambrian terrains around the globe.
